The Dodgers appear to have avoided the worst with Shohei Ohtani after a Game 2 injury scare.
Los Angeles’ superstar will be in the World Series Game 3 lineup on Monday and is “in a great spot,” Dodgers manager Dave Roberts told ESPN on Sunday.
Ohtani exited the Dodgers’ 4-2 win over the Yankees on Saturday with a left shoulder subluxation — a partial dislocation — after sliding into second base during the seventh inning, trying to stretch his left arm around a tag and leaving the field in obvious pain.

Roberts, though, remained optimistic after the game, even with Ohtani having an MRI exam scheduled for Sunday.
“The strength was great,’’ Roberts told reporters. “The range of motion [was] good. So we’re encouraged. But, obviously, I can’t speculate because we don’t get the scans yet.”
Ohtani, who will likely win an MVP award for the third time in his career after a regular season with 54 homers, 130 RBIs and 59 stolen bases, has hit .260 during the postseason, including a double off the right-field wall in Game 1.
