Shedeur Sanders’ mom, Pilar Sanders, reveals she has nothing to apologize for after raising “confident” kids — even amid her son’s NFL Draft drama.

“Proud mom,” Pilar, 50, captioned an Instagram Story video on Thursday, May 1, which highlighted images of all three of her children thriving.

She added, “Confident ladies produce confident babies. No apologies!”

Pilar shared a video montage of her sons, Shedeur, 23, and Shilo, 25, and daughter Shelomi, 21, over the years. (Pilar shares her three kids with ex-husband Deion Sanders. The couple was married from 1999 to 2013.)

Pilar’s sweet upload comes one week after Shedeur made headlines for drama surrounding his road to the NFL. During the NFL Draft last month, Shedeur was expected to go high due to his success as the quarterback at University of Colorado, Boulder.

However, when the draft began to unfold, his stock dropped, and he wasn’t picked up by the Cleveland Browns until the fifth round.

While some expected Shedeur to go in the first round, there has been controversy around him for some time. Part of the drama involves his father, Deion, who is a former NFL player and was his coach at Colorado.

Deion, 57, who calls himself “Coach Prime” or “Primetime,” became a polarizing figure in college football after his program was criticized for being about theatrics and celebrity hype.

Shedeur received backlash of his own over his perceived cockiness going into the draft, which some think contributed to his lower ranking. “You think I’m worried about what critics say or what people have to say?” Shedeur asked reporters at the February NFL Combine. “You know who my dad is? They hate on him, too.”

On Day 2 of the NFL Draft, Shedeur made headlines again after he received a prank call from the Atlanta Falcons defensive coordinator Jeff Ulbrich’s son Jax Ulbrich offering him a fake spot on the New Orleans Saints.

“On Friday night I made a tremendous mistake,” Jax, 21, wrote via Instagram on Sunday, April 27, apologizing for his actions. “Shedeur, what I did was completely inexcusable, embarrassing, and shameful. I’m so sorry I took away from your moment, it was selfish and childish.” (Both Jeff and Jax have been fined by the NFL for the scandal.)

Shedeur addressed the prank on Saturday, April 26, telling ESPN and other reporters, “It didn’t really have an impact on me,” he claimed. “Because it was just like, I mean, OK, like I don’t feed into negativity, or I don’t feed into that stuff. You’ve seen on Deion [Sanders] Jr.’s YouTube video my reaction to it, I don’t — it is what it is. I think, of course, it is childish. Of course, I feel like it was a childish act, but everybody does childish things here and there.”

While the NFL Draft had highs and lows for the Sanders family, it was ultimately a success. Shedeur was drafted in the fifth round, while his brother Shilo signed a contract with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers as an undrafted free agent on Saturday.

In addition to his three children with Pilar, Deion is the father of Deion Jr., 31, and Deiondra, 33, whom he shares with ex-wife Carolyn Chambers.
