Real Housewives of Orange County star Shannon Beador’s ex-husband, David Beador, was issued a temporary restraining order against his estranged wife, Lesley Beador, over alleged abuse, Us Weekly can exclusively report.
On June 17, David, 60, filed a petition for protection against Lesley, 41. The two share a daughter, Anna Love Beador.
David, who has been married to Lesley for four years, asked that Lesley be ordered to stay 100 yards away from him, his home and his work except for custody exchanges. He proposed they continue to share custody of Anna.
His petition requested that she enroll in a batterer intervention program and asked that she be ordered to move out of his mansion in Newport Beach, California. David noted, “I own the home. My business is located in Orange County. Lesley is currently staying at our Montana residence for the summer.”
“Lesley and I have had many ups and downs in our marital relationship, with prior [divorce petitions] filed and dismissed and domestic violence restraining orders,” David told the court. “I have always been concerned that Lesley’s relationship with me has been primarily based upon her desire to live a luxurious standard of living.”
He claimed, “In our case [it’s] not just a cliché that Lesley married me for my money. In our case it is a fact, she has made that very clear to me literally.”
He accused his ex of using their daughter as a tool to “extract more money from” him and to “persuade me [to] dismiss my prior domestic violence actions.”
Last year, Lesley filed for a restraining order against David, claiming he had been verbally abusive. She said he created a hostile environment for Anna and claimed he was extremely jealous. Lesley filed for divorce along with her restraining order.
At the time, David told the court that, “Lesley routinely tells me I am abusive when I disagree with her or make my opinions known. She has a habit of texting me consistently for hours at a time, trying to spark a reaction out of me. I believe Lesley is angry because I cut off the unlimited spending ability on her credit cards over the weekend.”
In his new filing, David claimed, “Lesley has physically abused me on several occasions and only a small portion of those incidents have been detailed in previous domestic violence actions.”
He continued, “Lesley is a pathological liar and she will state under penalty of perjury literally anything that will benefit her.” He said he endured “countless incidents of domestic violence and abuse” to be in a position where he can have frequent contact with his daughter.
David said they had a trip planned to New York earlier this month. He said Lesley started a fight with him after his friend made positive comments about him in front of her.
He said that the morning they were set to leave, Lesley refused to go. “We started to argue back and forth, and she made several demeaning comments, and she was again attempting to provoke me as she has done on many occasions in the past.”
“During our argument, Lesley physically attacked me, gouging large chunks of skin out of my arm,” David said. The businessman attached photos of his alleged injuries taken a few days after the incident.
“It should be further noted that during the altercation, Lesley actually shoved her fingers into my mouth attempting to silence me and later developed a self-serving narrative that I unilaterally bit her fingers!” he wrote. “This makes no sense.”
He claimed Lesley also cornered him in the bathroom and “forcefully slapped” him at least four times across the face. “We obviously did not go on the family trip,” he wrote. David said Lesley left their California home and went to their Montana home.
He said he spoke to Lesley, who accused him of being gay with his friend. “I am not gay,” David said.
In the petition, he explained that he canceled the purchase of a “very expensive necklace,” which upset Lesley. He said she refused to let him speak to Anna and threatened to take out her own restraining order against him.
The court granted David’s request for a temporary restraining order. A hearing has been set for later this month on whether it will become permanent.
On the same day, David filed for divorce. He requested joint legal and physical custody of Anna. He cited “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for the split.
He also asked the court to enforce the prenuptial agreement they signed before walking down the aisle. He said the prenup awards Lesley $10,000 per month in support for half the duration of the marriage.
David and Shannon — who share three daughters of their own — were married from 2000 and split in 2017.
