Savannah Chrisley is feeling a little apprehensive about her family’s new reality show, The Chrisleys: Back to Reality.
Savannah, 28, shared on the Tuesday, August 12, episode of her “Unlocked” podcast that the new series will be very warts-and-all, and fans will see her at her lowest.
She said, “I’m excited but also just mortified at what an absolute basket case I may look like in one or two episodes because I had a full-on mental breakdown over my relationship, and life falling apart, and being solo, and magazine headlines that I got dragged into, and all the things. So, just be prepared for that, guys.”
Savannah, her parents Todd, 56, and Julie, 52, and siblings Chase, 29, Grayson, 19, and Chloe, 12, are set to return to television screens next month in a new Lifetime reality show that will document Savannah’s efforts to have her parents freed from federal prison — and their eventual release.
The family previously starred on the USA Network’s Chrisley Knows Best from 2014 to 2023. The show was canceled after Todd and Julie were convicted on 12 counts of tax evasion, bank and wire fraud and conspiracy in 2022. They reported to prison in January 2023. Todd was sentenced to 12 years behind bars, while Julie was handed a seven-year sentence. (The couple have always maintained their innocence.)
In May, President Donald Trump issued pardons for both Todd and Julie, and they were released from prison the next day.
During a press conference in May, Savannah said that the show had already wrapped production when news of the pardons broke, prompting cameras to pick back up.
“We’re excited, because I think this new show is going to give people a look into the trial and things that we went through, and we’re going to set the record straight. It comes full circle because we go back, and then we get to the point where mom and dad are pardoned and now we move forward with our lives,” Savannah said at the time.
Todd confirmed he began filming “literally the night that [Julie and I] got home.”
“I have nothing to hide,” Todd says in the trailer, which dropped late July. “I look at this as me exposing the truth, and depending on how long this interview goes, you might see more than what you bargained for.”
The Chrisleys: Back to Reality launches with a two-night premiere on Monday, September 1, and Tuesday, September 2, with two-hour episodes airing on Lifetime at 8 p.m. ET.
