Rosie O’Donnell’s Daughter Chelsea Ordered to Serve Prison Time After Violating Probation in Drug Case (Exclusive)

News RoomBy News RoomOctober 29, 20251 ViewsNo Comments

Rosie O’Donnell’s daughter Chelsea O’Donnell had her probation revoked and was sentenced to prison time, Us Weekly can exclusively report.

On Wednesday, October 22, court records show a Wisconsin judge made the decision after Chelsea, 28, was accused of violating the terms of her probation.

An official from the treatment drug court said Chelsea was in violation due to sexual assault allegations. The paperwork did not provide any further details.

Further, the official said Chelsea had not shown significant progress in the treatment drug program. “The facts surrounding this request have been staffed with the Marinette County Treatment Drug Court Team and have been deemed sufficient grounds to warrant termination from the Marinette County Treatment Drug Court Program,” the filing stated.

Us reached out to the Wisconsin Department of Corrections to determine where Chelsea was being housed, but we were referred to the Marinette County Sheriff’s office.

On October 27, an officer at the Marinette County Sheriff’s Office confirmed to Us that Chelsea has been in custody since September 9 and has been sentenced to prison.

The officer told Us that Chelsea will be transferred to the Taycheedah Correctional Institution, a medium-security prison in Wisconsin, and will serve her sentence at the facility or will be moved to another prison to serve her sentence. The official could not confirm Chelsea’s sentence.

When contacted for comment, Rosie told Us, “I have compassion for those struggling with addiction – chelsea was born into addiction and it has been a painful journey for her and her children. we continue to love and support her through these horrible times. prayers welcomed. ”

As Us previously reported, Chelsea was sentenced to six years’ probation in January 2025 after three back-to-back arrests. (Chesea was arrested on September 10 on charges of drug possession and child neglect. She was arrested again on October 11, over drugs, and then a third time on November 18, over drugs.)

The sentence came after Chelsea reached a plea deal with prosecutors that covered all three arrests.

Per the deal, Chelsea pleaded guilty to certain charges and other charges were dropped. The court sentenced Chelsea to 18 months in prison but the sentence was “stayed”, meaning she would only have to serve probation as long as she did not get into trouble for the six years on probation.

The judge said Chelsea was to have “strict compliance” with the treatment drug court and maintain “absolute sobriety.” She was not allowed to possess or consume alcohol, controlled substances or any substances.

Chelsea had issues staying out of trouble in the months leading up to her being sentenced to prison time. The court docket showed she was sentenced to a couple of days in county jail in April for violating the court rules but was allowed to stay on probation.

In June, the court docket showed a hearing was held over a “medication violation.” The court ordered Chelsea to write out the “medication policy” and recite it.

Around the same time, Chelsea was accused of missing an appointment and was ordered to serve two hours of ditch picking as punishment.

Chelsea was heard on her “positive” progress on June 17 and she was congratulated by the court a couple of weeks later.

In late July, things took a turn when the court docket showed Chelsea was heard on “dishonesty.” She was ordered to go back to phase two of the treatment program and had to write an apology letter to her landlord.

In August, Chelsea restarted phase two of her treatment program. The court said it heard “progress but concerns.”

Chelsea was ordered to 36 hours of community service for being suspended from work and “will be on lockdown.”

In September, the court ordered Chelsea to serve two weeks in county jail and she had to write an essay on why she should be given a last chance contract instead of “termination.”

In December 2024, Rosie, 63, spoke out about Chelsea’s legal troubles. The duo have had a rocky relationship over the years.
