Romeo Beckham’s family showed him love on his birthday, but his brother Brooklyn Beckham was noticeably missing from the festivities.
Romeo’s dad, David Beckham, kicked off the tributes on Sunday, August 31, posting a throwback photo via Instagram in honor of his son.
“Happy 23rd Birthday to my little boy 🩷 you are kind , humble , polite , hard working and the most special person to everyone we love you so much x,” David, 50, wrote, alongside a pic of Romeo as a toddler in a kiddie pool. “Have the most special day HAPPY BIRTHDAY big boy @romeobeckham 🩷.”
Romeo’s mom, Victoria Beckham, shared David’s post via her Instagram Story the same day, captioning the throwback snap, “We love you so much Romeo.”
Victoria, 51, also posted her own tribute on Monday, September 1, with another throwback snap of Romeo.
“Hope all your dreams come true on your birthday,” Victoria wrote via her Instagram Story, alongside a snap of Romeo as a baby.
In a subsequent snap, Victoria shared another baby pic of Romeo, this time with a minor injury.
“A few bumps along the way Romeo,” she joked.
Victoria also posted another throwback baby pic of Romeo captioning the snap, “Can’t believe u r turning 23 today!”
In addition to the throwback photos, Victoria posted a video from Romeo’s birthday celebration. One clip included the birthday boy blowing out his birthday candles. Another snap featured the entire Beckham family — with the exception of Brooklyn.
Cruz Beckham also gave Romeo a shoutout in honor of his special day.
“Love u man. Happy birthday,” Cruz wrote via her Instagram Story on Monday, alongside a throwback snap of Romeo holding up a Justin Bieber phone case.
Brooklyn’s obvious absence from the celebrity event comes months after he and wife Nicola Peltz Beckham were missing from David’s 50th birthday celebrations back in May. A source told Us Weekly at the time that Brooklyn and Nicola have “not been in touch” with David and Victoria since.
“There hasn’t been any sort of resolution from either side,” the insider explained, noting that David and Victoria have also not reached out to Brooklyn and Nicola.
An additional source told Us in June that Romeo’s relationship with ex Kim Turnbull played a factor in the family’s ongoing drama.
“Romeo and Kim did split because of the family drama. It was mutual. It was just too much pressure and tension looming over them,” the insider shared. “It put a lot of strain on them and there was no path forward. It was unfortunate that it got to that point, but family comes first for Romeo.”
The Beckhams have not publicly addressed the alleged feud nor have they explained Brooklyn’s absence at recent family events.
