Robin Wright and her boyfriend, Henry Smith, have found a home across the pond.

“It’s liberating to be done,” Wright, 59, told The Times of London in a Saturday, August 30, profile, revealing they are renting a property on the English seaside. “Be done with searching, looking and getting 60 percent of what you wanted.”

The actress, however, is still navigating certain perplexities about the English, namely a fixture on societal classes.

“It’s very evident when you’re in a room and you feel the judgment or the praise of someone who’s more elevated,” she said. “I’m trying to figure it out. Why are you guys so obsessed with who went to this boarding school or this university? Who gives a s***?”

Wright and Smith, 52, also brought their two dogs, Rusty and Rocky, with them when they moved.

“I’m seen and loved for who I am,” Wright mused to the outlet. “It’s so relaxing.”

Wright and Smith, a British-Australian architect, have been together since 2024. They met in a British pub when she asked to feed his dog, Rusty, a piece of her steak.

“[Another stranger] goes, ‘No, it’s not my dog, it’s his dog,’” Wright recalled, pointing at Smith. “And Henry was standing at the bar, and he put his pint down, came over to me and grabbed my shoulders. He goes, ‘Who the f*** are you?’ And I said, ‘Who the f*** are you?’ And that was it.”

According to Wright, Smith was unaware of her acclaimed career in Hollywood and only intrigued by her “Nordic goddess beauty.”

“He is a sweetheart and just a good, decent adult,” Wright added. “He’s a man.”

Wright said that she and Smith “did a fast-track getting to know” one another while they were both grappling with long COVID, lingering symptoms from the pandemic-induced illness.

“We were lying in bed, deathly ill, crying, laughing, hugging, loving, snogging, f***ing,” she said. “Just like, ‘I want to know you.’”

The Girlfriend star added, “That’s exactly what I wanted. I’m turning 60 and I’m, like, ‘Is this it?’ love being alone and I’ve done that many times. But I’m, like, I want to grow old with somebody, and travel and see the world.”

Wright, however, doesn’t see herself getting married again.

“No. God no. Why?” she quipped to the newspaper. “That’s just unnecessary.”

Wright was previously married to Dane Witherspoon from 1986 to 1988, Sean Penn, with whom she shares two kids, from 1996 to 2010, and Clément Giraudet from 2018 to 2022. Wright was also twice engaged to Ben Foster, until they split for good in 2015.
