Rob Reiner’s Son Nick Allegedly Stormed Off After Christmas Party Exchange With Bill Hader: Report

News RoomBy News RoomDecember 16, 20250 ViewsNo Comments

New details are being revealed about Nick Reiner’s behavior at a star-studded Christmas party held before his parents’ death.

According to NBC News, Nick, 32, joined dad Rob Reiner and mom Michele Singer Reiner at a holiday gathering hosted by Conan O’Brien on Saturday, December 13.

At one point in the evening, Nick allegedly interrupted a conversation involving comedian Bill Hader. When Hader, 47, said the conversation was private, NBC News reported that Nick appeared to stand still and stare before “storming off.”

Us Weekly has reached out to Hader’s rep for comment.

A source previously told Us that Nick allegedly acted “creepily” at the celebration. At one point in the night, Nick asked people “if they were famous” before leaving.

TMZ reported that Rob and Nick got into a “very loud argument” at the gathering, which other attendees overheard. Both Rob and Michele subsequently left the event.

The couple was later found dead in their Brentwood, California, home on Sunday, December 14.

“It is with profound sorrow that we announce the tragic passing of Michele and Rob Reiner,” a family spokesman told Variety on Sunday. “We are heartbroken by this sudden loss, and we ask for privacy during this unbelievably difficult time.”

The Los Angeles Police Department later confirmed that the couple both suffered “apparent stab wounds.”

Nick was reportedly not at the Brentwood home of his parents when their bodies were discovered. Instead, Nick was located by police in an area near the University of Southern California campus in Los Angeles.

According to ABC News, authorities were able to arrest Nick for murder on Sunday night, approximately six hours after his parents were found dead.

Los Angeles district attorney Nathan Hochman announced in a press conference on Tuesday, December 16, that Nick has been charged with two counts of first-degree murder. He is facing life in prison without parole or the death penalty if he is convicted.

He will be arraigned after undergoing medical clearance, per Hochman.

As the investigation continues into what led to the deaths of Rob and Michele, many in Hollywood continue to mourn the couple.

“Rob and Michele Reiner were wonderful, caring, smart, funny, generous people, always coming up with ideas for how to make the world better, kinder,” actress Jane Fonda wrote via Instagram on Monday. “They had been helping me launch the Committee for the First Amendment. I saw them night before last looking healthy and happy. I am reeling with grief. Stunned.”

In a separate Instagram post from Monday, Maria Shriver wrote, “We had dinner this past week, and they were in the best place in their lives: loving one another, loving their friends, their family, their country.”

The journalist also acknowledged Rob and Michele as “really good” parents to their children, which also included Tracy (who Rob adopted during his marriage to the late Penny Marshall), Romy and Jake.

“They loved their kids so much, and they never stopped trying to be really good parents,” Shriver, 70, continued. “My love is with their family. I’m so sad for them. I’m devastated, gutted, shocked, stunned, and so deeply saddened, as are all of the people who loved them and who they loved.”
