The Nick Castellanos era in Philadelphia is all but over.
On Monday, the Phillies added veteran outfielder Adolis Garcia on a one-year, $10 million deal, The Post’s Jon Heyman confirmed, essentially signaling Castellanos’ time with the franchise is up in securing a replacement.
In the wake of the Phillies’ playoff ouster in October — when the Dodgers took down the club in the NLDS en route to their second consecutive World Series win — it was reported Castellanos could be on his way out via trade or release.
A two-time All-Star and Silver Slugger Award winner, Castellanos posted full-season lows with a batting average of .250 and an on-base percentage of .294.
His woeful 2025 campaign, which featured a career-worst -1.0 WAR, also included a one-game benching after beefing with manager Rob Thomas. At the time, Castellanos had been pulled for Harrison Bader.
The 33-year-old Castellanos is entering the fifth and final year of his $100 million pact with the Phillies. He’s due $20 million for the 2026 season.
“We’ll see what happens,” Phillies president of baseball operations Dave Dombrowski said in October. “I don’t know. I’m not going to get into specific players that are on our roster under contract.”
Enter Garcia, a fellow two-time All-Star and Gold Glove winner.
The 32-year-old right fielder spent the past six seasons with the Rangers, with whom he won a World Series in 2023. He made his MLB debut with the Cardinals in 2018.
In his final season with the Rangers, Garcia slashed .227/.271/.394, hitting 19 home runs and 75 RBIs.
The addition of Garcia comes one week after the Phillies re-signed Kyle Schwarber to a five-year, $150 million contract. The pact is the largest deal ever agreed to by a designated hitter.
