Pete Davidson has always been a family man.

The comedian grew close with his mom, Amy Waters, and his sister, Casey Davidson, after his father, Scott Davidson, who was a New York City firefighter, died in service during the September 11th attacks. In fact, Pete’s 2020 film The King of Staten Island is a tribute to his family and what they went through following Scott’s death.

“I made a tribute to my mom and dad, and I got to face these things I’d been avoiding for a really long time head-on,” Pete, who was 7 years old when his father died, told CBS Sunday Morning at the time of the movie’s release. “I really wanted this to be cleansing for me. I feel like I got to speak about it in the biggest way possible and I could get my story out there, so I feel like now, I can let it go.”

Now, Pete, who has talked about wanting kids of his own for years, is expecting his first child with girlfriend Elsie Hewitt. The actress announced the news in a July 2025 Instagram post, including several photos and videos of herself and Pete. One clip showed the pair at an ultrasound appointment.

Amy Waters

Pete has never been shy about discussing his close relationship with his mom. In fact, he moved in with Amy and Casey as an adult following his split from Ariana Grande in 2018.

“We bought a house together, but nobody believes that,” he said on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon in 2019. “I live with my mom, kinda, so I have, like, a basement that’s like mine that’s like an apartment, so I live underneath her, so I’m getting, like, a little arcade set up down there trying to make it mine.”

Pete moved out of their Staten Island home in April 2021, but he has remained close with his mom. They appeared together in a 2023 Smartwater commercial and were spotted hanging out together at a Brooklyn Nets game in New York in November 2024.

Scott Davidson

Scott became a firefighter in 1994 with Ladder Company 118. He had been on duty during the September 11 attacks and died alongside the rest of his unit when the Twin Towers collapsed.

Pete was severely affected by the loss of his father and has said that he acted out in school as a result of the trauma. At one point, he ripped all of his hair out and struggled with suicidal thoughts. However, he turned to stand-up comedy to help him cope.

“I had a really s****y childhood, and like, the worst thing that ever could have happened to me, happened to me when I was seven,” Pete told People in April 2025.

Casey Davidson

Casey is three years younger than Pete. She works as a PA-C at Lenox Hill Neurosurgery, according to her Instagram. Pete has made occasional appearances in posts on her account, including a 2019 snap where she celebrated the completion of filming of The King of Staten Island.

“That’s a wrap!!! Proud sister,” she wrote.

Elsie Hewitt

Pete and Elsie were spotted out together on multiple occasions in March 2025 before Us Weekly confirmed that they had begun dating. The pair later made their red carpet debut at the Endometriosis Foundation of America’s annual fundraising gala that May.

Pete’s 1st Child

Elsie announced that she and Pete were expecting baby No. 1 via an Instagram post on July 16, 2025.

“Welp now everyone knows we had sex,” she captioned the carousel.

A source exclusively told Us that Pete is “excited about this next chapter.”
