Olivia Munn is getting used to son Malcolm’s “threenager” phase.

Munn, 44, took to Instagram on Sunday, November 24, to document the most dramatic part of her eldest child’s birthday party.

“Malcolm loves Elvis so I made this awesome birthday cake but he couldn’t care less,” she captioned a photo of a dessert honoring the King of Rock and Roll. “He’s throwing the bigger tantrum and is on a hunger strike.”

Munn joked that Malcolm’s behavior “came hard and fast” as soon as he turned three years old. She also marked the special milestone in a separate post, writing, “Magic Malc turns 3 today 🥹 🎂 This photo was taken last year just around the time I found out I had breast cancer. I remember this time fondly all because of this little boy. He’s made me stronger and softer in ways I never knew I could be. Happiest Birthday my sweet boy. You cracked my heart wide open.”

The actress shares Malcolm and 2-month-old daughter Méi with husband John Mulaney. The couple started dating in early 2021 after the comedian’s split from ex-wife Anna Marie Tendler. Mulaney’s divorce was finalized in January 2022, two months after he and Munn welcomed Malcolm in November 2021.

Munn recently opened up about the beginning of their relationship, admitting that they didn’t know each other well when she found out she was pregnant.

“It wasn’t anything close to ‘dating,’” Munn told GQ earlier this month. “I barely knew him.”

The pair have since stuck together through a series of ups and downs. Earlier this year, Munn revealed she was diagnosed with breast cancer.

“Surprisingly, I’ve only cried twice. I guess I haven’t felt like there was time to cry. My focus narrowed and I tabled any emotions that I felt would interfere with my ability to stay clearheaded,” she wrote via Instagram in March. “I went from feeling completely fine one day, to waking up in a hospital bed after a 10-hour surgery the next.”

Munn expressed her gratitude to Mulaney, 42, for remaining by her side, adding, “I’m so thankful for the nights [John] spent researching what every operation and medication meant and what side effects and recovery I could expect. For being there before I went into each surgery and being there when I woke up, always placing framed photos of our little boy Malcolm so it would be the first thing I saw when I opened my eyes.”

In response, Mulaney commented, “Thank you for fighting so hard to be here for us. Malc and I adore you. ❤️.”

Mulaney confirmed five months later that he and Munn tied the knot, sharing on an episode of Late Night With Seth Meyers, “I got married. … It’s the best. It’s the greatest single time in my life.”
