Former NBA star Dwight Howard’s wife has filed for divorce after just six months of marriage.

Amy Luciani (real name Amber Howard) requested the divorce on July 1, according to court documents obtained by Us Weekly.

The couple got married “on or about January 11, 2025.”

In the documents, Luciani, 35, said the marriage to Howard, 39, was “irretrievably broken” without any “prospects for reconciliation.”

Luciani, best known for appearing on Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta, asked that all assets and property be divided “equally” and requested either “periodic, lump-sum, in-kind alimony or any combination thereof on a temporary and permanent basis.”

Us Weekly has reached to Luciani’s attorney and a representative for Howard for comment.

The reality star hinted at the split on Monday, July 7, posting an inspirational quote to her Instagram Story.

“Remember if God brought you to it, He will bring you through it,” the quote read.

Howard and Luciani went public with their relationship in December 2024 before tying the knot the following month.

A week after making their relationship official, Howard called Luciani his “perfect person” in a post via Instagram.

Luciani celebrated her birthday on June 3 but did not mention Howard in a reflective social media post.

“I spent the perfect day soaking in the fact that God really loves me,” she wrote alongside a carousel of pictures. “I walked around whispering Thank You God all day.”

The post continued, “I’m so thankful for my family & friends. I’m thankful for my supporters for riding with me all these years. Im thankful for my health. Thankful for being forgiven and renewed. Thankful because my mama is still here. Thankful because I know what’s to come is gonna be amazing. Thank you God for seeing me deserving of what you gave me. Another year!”

All traces of Howard and their marriage appear to have been scrubbed from Luciani’s Instagram.

Howard retired from professional basketball in 2023 after one season with the Taoyuan Leopards of Taiwan’s T1 League.

Prior to that, Howard had an 18-year career in the NBA with the Orlando Magic, Los Angeles Lakers, Houston Rockets, Atlanta Hawks, Charlotte Hornets, Washington Wizards and Philadelphia 76ers.

Howard has made multiple appearances on reality competition series in recent years, most recently competing on Dancing With the Stars season 33 in 2024. He and his partner, Daniella Karagach, finished in sixth place.

He also appeared on Fox’s Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test in 2023, where he placed third.
