Offensive coordinator Nathaniel Hackett has not escaped the Jets’ changes unscathed.

Interim head coach Jeff Ulbrich has taken the play-calling duties away from Hackett and given them to Todd Downing, the team’s quarterbacks coach and passing game coordinator.

Downing was the offensive coordinator for the Titans before joining the Jets last season.

Ulbrich said that Aaron Rodgers, who is close with Hackett from their time together with the Packers, understood and supported the decision.

According to various reports, head coach Robert Saleh was considering a similar move before he was fired by owner Woody Johnson on Tuesday.

Hackett has been heavily scrutinized for the offense’s early-season struggles, as the Jets are off to a 2-3 start.

Ulrbrich will continue to call plays for the defense.

The Jets host the Bills on “Monday Night Football” with first place in the AFC East on the line.
