Nate Bargatze and his wife, Laura Bargatze, started out as coworkers at their local Applebee’s in Tennessee — and have been together ever since.

Laura recalled first feeling connected to Nate one night when they went out with all of their coworkers.

“He put in The Little Mermaid soundtrack and told his friends to, like, ‘Shush, shush, I’m listening to this song,’” Laura shared on “The Nateland Podcast” in November 2020. “I was like, if anyone could put in The Little Mermaid soundtrack and shush a bunch of 20-year-olds … to be quiet while he sings it. I thought that was totally confident.”

The couple eventually got engaged in 2005 and tied the knot in October 2006 on a Friday the 13th.

“We got married on Friday the 13th. Got a pretty sweet deal on that,” he joked in his The Tennessee Kid comedy special in 2019. “They were wide open. We were like, ‘What times are available?’ They go, ‘Every one of ‘em. All 24. You can call us that day if you want.’”

Nate and Laura went on to welcome daughter Harper in July 2012.

Laura has continued to support Nate throughout his career, including becoming an executive producer on his “The Nateland Podcast” and serving as a talent manager at Bargatze Enterprises.
