Miss Jamaica Gabrielle Henry Is Rushed to Hospital After Fall at 2025 Miss Universe Pageant

News RoomBy News RoomNovember 20, 20251 ViewsNo Comments

Miss Jamaica Gabrielle Henry caused concern after a fall on stage resulted in her being carried away on a stretcher during a Miss Universe pageant.

Footage was shared via social media on Wednesday, November 19, showing Henry, 28, taking a tumble off the stage amid the preliminary evening gown round. In the video, Henry walked across the stage in an orange gown and struck a pose. As she moved toward the left of the stage, Henry fell and a group of people rushed to help her as she was removed on a stretcher.

The Miss Universe Jamaica Organization subsequently released a statement confirming that Henry “experienced a fall from the main stage during the evening gown round” ahead of the Miss Universe finals this weekend in Thailand.

“She was rushed to the Paolo Rangsit Hospital, where medical professionals are attending to her care and have advised that she is not suffering from any life-threatening injuries,” the statement via Instagram noted. “However, they continue to conduct tests to ensure her full recovery.”

The organization requested that fans “stay upbeat, lift her in prayer, and send positive thoughts as she receives the necessary medical care” before thanking them for the outpouring of support.

Before the health scare, Henry took part in the national costume and swimsuit portion of the pageant. Miss Universe Organization President Raúl Rocha offered an update on Henry via Instagram after he visited her in the hospital.

“I was there with her family and her, and thankfully, there are no broken bones and she is under good care,” he wrote on Wednesday.

The 74th Miss Universe competition, which began earlier this month, has resulted in two controversies, including an argument between Miss Mexico Fátima Bosch and Thai businessman Nawat Itsaragrisil during a sash ceremony.

Amid the drama, the Miss Universe Organization (MUO) issued a statement reaffirming its commitment to respect and safety for all participants.

“The Miss Universe Organization (MUO) reaffirms its commitment to work closely with the host community, the Miss Grand International Organization (MGI), and all local partners to ensure the success of the 74th edition of the pageant,” they stated. “A high-level delegation, led by the MUO’s CEO, Mr. Mario Búcaro, is traveling to Thailand to strengthen collaboration with the host country, MGI, and relevant authorities.”

The statement continued: “All scheduled events and activities will take place as planned, reaffirming our shared goal of delivering a global celebration that reflects the values of diversity, empowerment, and inclusion that define the legacy of Miss Universe.”

Miss Universe judge Omar Harfouch later dropped out of the pageant after claiming there was “lack of transparency” in voting.

The 2025 Miss Universe finals take place Friday, November 21, with reigning queen Victoria Kjær Theilvig of Denmark crowning the next winner.
