The one acquisition, it’s hard to miss him. It’s hard to overlook him, or overstate what he’s been so far this year. That’s Karl-Anthony Towns. From the jump, he’s made perfectly clear the impact he can have on these Knicks, and he keeps showing more. You didn’t know he could pass the ball in addition to scoring and rebounding? You sure know now.

Thought he might be a tad on the soft side, since that’s the way some of the whispers went in Minneapolis and, really, all the way back to Kentucky? Well, for his second straight game, he was banged up so badly that he briefly took to the floor to gather himself. Wednesday it was his knee. This time it was his back.

Both times he played on. And Sunday, he was a game-high 26 points and a game-high 15 rebounds as the Knicks swept their weekend get-together with the Nets, 114-104. Yes. There’s been little doubt about Towns’ impact.
