I have no idea if these will turn out to be strong transactions or weak. But even the most jaded fan can’t really believe that Steve Cohen and David Stearns designed an offseason only to annoy you.
I would caution that action does not always equal success. The Mariners were near silent last offseason — their biggest move (irony alert) was to sign free agent Jorge Polanco for one year. Seattle won its first division title since 2001 and went further (ALCS Game 7) than any time in its history.
