The celebration was on in the Mets clubhouse.

The Amazin’s finally got to enjoy the fruits of the labors with plenty of champagne, beer and some cigars after clinching their second postseason berth in three seasons by beating the Braves 8-7 in a thrilling come-from-behind win in Game 1 of a doubleheader at Truist Park on Monday.

They dropped Game 2, 3-0, and will head to Milwaukee to face the Brewers on Tuesday at 5:32 p.m. as the third NL wild card.

Their 89 wins was enough to claim the spot over the Arizona Diamondbacks due to holding the head-to-head tiebreaker with last year’s National League champions.

It was an extra special day for the Mets players on the team in 2022 as the group only enjoyed a champagne toast after clinching the postseason when it chose to save a full-on celebration for an NL East championship that never came.

The Braves ended up claiming the crown via a tie breaker with both teams at 101 wins.

These Mets exorcised those demons a bit, rallying from down 3-0 and then 7-6 to win Game 1.

The Amazin’s had led 6-3 after a six-run eighth inning highlighted by a three-run homer by Brandon Nimmo.

But Phil Maton and Edwin Diaz combined to allow four Braves runs in the bottom of the frame, only to see Francisco Lindor smack a two-run homer on the top of the ninth to put the Mets ahead from good.

After manager Carlos Mendoza addressed the team, Lindor was the recipient of plenty bubbly being sprayed and doused on him. Brandom Nimmo was also showing giving owner Steve Cohen and his family some sprays of champagne.

Pitcher Luis Severino — the Mets’ likely Game 1 starter, went on his Instagram Live and was shown telling his teammates to “drink your water”, because they have a game on Tuesday.

It was a rare day where both teams celebrated postseason berths as the Braves earned the second wild card with their Game 2 win.

Some member of both teams came up to congratulate each other on the field and take some photos – putting the rivalry aside for a bit.
