The Lions are in unfamiliar territory.

For the first time in franchise history, Detroit is the Super Bowl favorite.

After a 52-6 drubbing of the Jaguars to move to 9-1 on Sunday, the Lions now have the best Lombardi Trophy odds (+325) at BetMGM Sportsbook, surpassing the Chiefs, who took their first loss of the season at the hands of the Bills.

Kansas City now has the second-best odds (+450), followed by Buffalo (+650).

The Ravens (+800) and Eagles (+850) are the only other teams with odds better than 18/1.

After making the NFC championship game last season for the first time since 1991 before falling to the 49ers, the Lions have gotten even better in 2024.

On top of having the best record in the league, Detroit’s plus-159-point differential is, by far, the best in the NFL.

The Bills (+106) are the only other team with a point differential higher than 80.

Detroit had been knocking on the door all season before finally usurping Kansas City at the top of most major sportsbook’s odds boards.

Before the season, the Lions had the fourth-best odds (+1300) at FanDuel Sportsbook.

By Week 8, the Lions had passed up the 49ers as the NFC’s Super Bowl favorite.

Betting on the NFL?

The Lions’ dream season looks like it may end up in some hardware across the organization as well.

Head coach Dan Campbell is the second-favorite (+400) to win the NFL Coach of the Year award after the Steelers’ Mike Tomlin (+325).

Quarterback Jared Goff has the third-best NFL MVP odds (+600 while running back Jahmyr Gibbs and Amon-Ra St. Brown both rank in the top 10 on the odds board for Offensive Player of the Year.
