Lana Condor and Anthony De La Torre are married! They enjoyed a late October wedding in Malibu, California.
Condor wore a Vera Wang wedding gown, which she revealed her mother watched her try on. The occasion was particularly meaningful as Condor’s mom, Mary, died recently.
“A little over two years ago, I took my mom and bridesmaids to Vera Wang to go dress-shopping,” she told Vogue in an interview published on Friday, November 1. “My mom and I absolutely fell in love with my wedding gown the moment I tried it on, and I am so grateful I got to share that experience with her. That was the only time she was able to see me in my dress, and I will hold that memory in my heart forever. We both instantly knew it was the one. It was timeless and classic, while still youthful and playful. My biggest hope — which I feel like I achieved — was to feel like myself in the dress, and I have never felt more beautiful than I did when I wore my wedding dress. I am forever grateful.”
The To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before star met De La Torre at an Emmys party in 2015. He introduced himself by tapping her on the shoulder and saying, “Hi, I’m Anthony. I thought I would make a friend.” As she told Cosmopolitan in 2019, the moment felt “like a Taylor Swift song.”
The couple announced their engagement in January 2022 after six years of dating. “Saying YES was the easiest decision I’ve ever made,” Condor gushed via Instagram alongside photos from their engagement shoot and a video from his proposal. “I consider myself the absolute luckiest woman alive to live in your sphere. Aside from my father, without a doubt, you are the greatest man in the world.”
Condor joked that the pair’s dogs, Emmy and Timmy, thought it was “about time” they got engaged.
She ended her post with a sweet message to De La Torre. “I cannot wait to be your wife, baby,” she wrote. “I love you a million times over.”
De La Torre, for his part, echoed his fiancée’s sentiments in his own Instagram post. “That moment when you ask your best friend to be by your side forever … I’ve wanted to do this for six years,” he noted. “The easiest decision I’ve ever made was to ask this angel to be my wife.”
Two months after sharing their engagement news with the world, Condor reflected on her journey with De La Torre.
“I’m very, very, very excited,” she told People in March 2022. “Anthony is my absolute best friend. He’s my person. … He’s that warrior that’s been with me every step of the way over the past six years of my world changing. I just always want to be by his side, and he’s been the most supportive person in my career. He’s my warrior rock. Times where I just feel like I can’t do anything or I’m deeply exhausted — he’s always been there.”
Condor also teased how the duo were approaching their wedding plans.
“Growing up, I knew I always wanted to get married and have a beautiful wedding, but I wasn’t, like, Pinterest-ing or figuring out every detail,” she explained. “Anthony and I are both pretty go with the flow. So as we plan, we’re just going with what we feel in the moment.”
