Kylie Jenner and Jennifer Lopez paid their final respects to their late hairstylist, Jesus Guerrero, on Sunday, March 30.

People and TMZ reported that Jenner, 27, and Lopez, 55, were among friends and family who gathered in Houston, Texas, on Sunday for Guerrero’s funeral services following his unexpected death at the age of 34 last month.

Guerrero’s sister, Gris Guerrero, confirmed her brother’s death when she set up a GoFundMe page to cover the celebrity hairstylist’s funeral costs on February 22.

“It is with a heavy heart that we let the world know that Jesus Guerrero has gone to heaven. He is a son, a brother, an uncle, an artist, a friend, and so much more,” Gris wrote via the GoFundMe page.

Following Jesus’ death, it was reported that Jenner had offered to cover all of her late friend’s funeral expenses.

In an exclusive interview with Us Weekly, Gris praised Jenner and Lopez for supporting Jesus’ family following his death.

“[Jenner] has told us anything we need. Jesus was family to her, and she was family to him,” Gris told Us in an interview published February 25. “She has kept an open line. Anything we need, any questions we have, she has been there for us. She wants his memory to be honored and wants to do as much as she can so he gets the farewell he deserves.”

Lopez also reached out and “talked us through everything that she could, along with others that were there,” Gris added.

Gris told Us that there were many “unanswered questions” regarding her brother’s death, and “it may take some time to properly have something for him.”

“We are getting some help, but it is a waiting game for everyone to do what they can to get answers,” she said.

Gris said that her brother had been in the hospital for an unknown illness at the time of his death. “We have been able to track every one of his steps, but we don’t know what got him sick or what was [the] sickness,” she said. “It all happened suddenly and no one knows why.”

Jenner paid tribute to Jesus via her Instagram on February 25, describing him as “more than my friend.”

“He was a light in my life, a source of laughter, comfort, love, and unwavering support. I don’t know how I would have made it through the last almost decade without him by my side. He had a way of making even the heaviest days feel lighter,” Jenner wrote.

She continued, “Thank you, Jesus, for always being there for me, for lifting me up, for being my friend. The pain of losing you is just unbearable and i don’t know how to move forward without you but I know great grief is born only of great love. and I loved you so much. You were the best person, with a talent that was unmatched. a true artist. You inspired so many, and you always will.”

Lopez shared a photo of Jesus in her own Instagram tribute and wrote, “It’s no surprise your mother gave you the name Jesus. You were gentle and kind and loving, quiet and unassuming, but so powerful, and your presence was felt the minute you walked into any room.”

“You never demanded the spotlight. You never needed to make a sound to be recognized, your heart and your talent did that as effortlessly as your artistry did,” Lopez added.
