Winnie Harlow got a custom engagement ring from Kyle Kuzma.
The couple, who announced their engagement via Instagram on Tuesday, February 18, opened up to Vogue about her 8.5-carat oval design, which featured two baguette stones on the side. Kuzma, 29, told the publication that he spent three months designing the ring himself, with no help from Harlow, 30.
“I never really asked her what type of ring she liked or anything,” he said. “I just wanted to draw a picture of what I felt resembled her.” The Milwaukee Bucks player added, “Something that was elegant, but very timeless and simplistic at the same time.”
Before he started drawing up the ring, Kuzma shared that he started planning her surprise engagement six months ago after coming up with the idea back in 2022. At the time, the couple, who have been dating since 2020, were enjoying a trip to Turks and Caicos when Harlow told Kuzma it was the best day of her life. He then decided it would be where he popped the question.
Harlow told the publication that she had no idea the proposal was coming on Thursday, February 13. For their engagement, Kuzma decorated a plane with rose petals, which Harlow thought was “so cute for Valentine’s Day. “I still had no idea what this was,” she said.
Days after popping the question, the couple took to Instagram to show off romantic moments, including an adorable snap of them kissing and holding up her ring. Friends and fans were quick to congratulate the lovebirds in the comments section.
“I SCREAMED OUT LOUD 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭WINNIEEEEEE!!!! Congratulations my gorgeous girl!!” influencer Jackie Asamoah wrote, as Malika Haqq gushed, “CONGRATULATIONS ❤️.”
