Katy Perry has seemingly broken her silence on her rumored romance with Justin Trudeau by way of a cheeky joke at a London concert.

“London, England, you’re like this on a Monday night after a whole day at work and a whole day at school?” Perry, 40, said during her Lifetimes World Tour concert at the O2 Arena in London on Monday, October 13, according to The Sun. “No wonder I fall for Englishmen all the time … but not anymore.”

Perry appeared to be referencing her split from English actor Orlando Bloom. The exes, who share daughter Daisy Dove, 5, called off their engagement in June after nearly 10 years together. (Perry was also previously married to English actor and comedian Russell Brand from 2010 to 2012.)

The “Firework” singer now has her sights set on a Canadian man. Perry was seen cuddling and kissing former Canadian Prime Minister Trudeau, 53, aboard her Caravelle yacht off the coast of Santa Barbara, California, on Saturday, October 11, according to photos published by Daily Mail.

The cozy moment came after she and Trudeau previously sparked romance rumors with a walk in Montreal’s Mount Royal Park and a dinner date in July. Two days later, the politician attended Perry’s Lifetimes Tour concert at the Bell Centre in Montreal. Us Weekly confirmed the pair were dating, but keeping it “casual,” on August 5.

Perry’s joke about moving on from Englishmen wasn’t the only hint she made about her relationship status during Monday’s concert. The Grammy nominee had an intriguing response when a fan named Darren joined her on stage and proposed to her.

“I heard you’re single,” Darren said, to which Perry replied, “You heard I’m single? That’s interesting.”

After Darren got down on one knee and proposed to Perry with a large sign, the shocked singer said, “Are you kidding me? Not today! You know, you really should have asked me about 48 hours ago.”

Multiple sources exclusively told Us in September that Perry and Trudeau were still seeing each other after their initial outings over the summer.

“They’ve decided to be much more private about it,” one source told Us. “They are still speaking and are very interested in each other.”

A second insider noted that the romance “isn’t serious” because Perry is “extremely busy right now” on tour.

“Justin has made plans to see her when she has downtime in a few weeks when she gets back from her tour in Brazil,” the insider said, referring to the break Perry had before the European leg of her tour kicked off on October 4. “Katy is taking it day by day but is very open to dating.”

Amid Trudeau and Perry’s relationship, Trudeau’s ex-wife, Sophie Grégoire Trudeau, took to Instagram to share a message about love and moving on.

“Nothing we love is meant to be kept forever,” Grégoire Trudeau, 50, captioned a video. “People, places, moments — they’re all meant to be lived, not possessed.”

She continued, “The beauty is in the being there: in the shared laugh, the quiet glance, the heartbeat of a place before it changes. Connection isn’t something we hold — it’s something we feel while it’s here. That’s the real magic: presence.”

Trudeau and Grégoire Trudeau were married from 2005 to 2023 and share kids Xavier, 17, Ella-Grace, 16, and Hadrien, 11.
