Colton Underwood can seemingly always get his Are You My First? cohost Kaitlyn Bristowe to spill the tea — especially when it comes to details about her first times.

“How would you describe your first time in three words?” Colton, 33, asked Kaitlyn, 40, while playing a game pegged to their virgin dating show.

Kaitlyn quickly replied that the experience was “scary, painful and terrible.” (Colton, for his part, concurred, adding, “Same, same, same.”)

As Colton continued prying for details, Kaitlyn answered each question with her signature candor.

“There was a song playing for my first kiss, and it [went], ‘Baby, when the lights go out,’” she recalled, singing the lyrics to Five’s 1998 hit “When the Lights Go Out.”

She continued, “[When I had sex, it was] awkward silence on the couch.”

According to Kaitlyn, the big moment took place on her sister’s “hand-me-down” couch that was left over from their parents’ divorce.

“Honestly, [it was like a] horror film, and I say this with love,” she said, comparing the experience to a movie. “It was [with] my high school sweetheart, and I really loved him. It was the right choice, but [I have] vaginismus.”

Kaitlyn revealed on a recent episode of Are You My First? that she suffers from vaginismus, which is a medical condition that occurs when the vaginal muscles suddenly tense and feel intense pain when something is inserted.

While Kaitlyn didn’t further explain how the vaginismus hindered her first time, she did tell Colton that she previously thought that would be a “romantic” moment.

“It’s not going to be sexy,” Kaitlyn said, doling out sex advice to virgins. “It’s messy, but so is love.”

In response, Colton noted that her tips were “great.”

The two Bachelor Nation alums — Colton was a virgin while he was the Bachelor, and Kaitlyn previously hosted The Bachelorette years after her season — are now sharing their romantic pearls of wisdom with the Are You My First? contestants on Hulu’s latest dating show.

“The goal of the show was never to get them laid. I remember joking about that on my Bachelor season like, ‘That is not the goal of the show,’” Colton told Us. “The goal is to connect with somebody, to experience these things. And people experienced their firsts on Are You My First? in different ways. On a deeper level, I think some of the cast experienced the first self-love and self-acceptance, like, having that deeper understanding of their virginity was the goal of this.”

Are You My First? is currently streaming on Hulu.
