Pacey and Joey fans will surely appreciate that actors Joshua Jackson and Katie Holmes are just as tight years after Dawson’s Creek wrapped.

Busy [Philipps] and Michelle [Williams] are very, very close and Katie and I are very close,” Jackson, 46, said on the Tuesday, April 22, episode of the “Dinner’s on Me With Jesse Tyler Ferguson” podcast, detailing what goes down in the cast’s group chat. “It’s not a daily call.”

He added, “Sometimes it’s not a weekly or monthly or even a half-yearly call. But when you’re together, A) there’s always that, like, I know you know. And B), these moments, like, these major moments in life are, like, other than your husband, there’s probably no other people in your life that you are that forged to ‘cause you had to go through good and bad, and happy and ‘f*** you,’ and don’t talk to me and I love you. … But life happens.”

Jackson starred as Pacey Witter on The WB’s Dawson’s Creek, a teen drama about a close-knit group of friends. The show also starred Holmes (Joey Potter), James Van Der Beek (Dawson Leery) and Michelle Williams (Jen Lindley), airing from 1998 to 2003. During the show’s heyday, Jackson and Holmes, 46, briefly dated in real life but continued to amicably work together (and play Dawson’s love interests) when they called it quits.

“[The show] forges you, and even James is going through something truly terrible right now,” Jackson added to Ferguson, 49, of Van Der Beek’s ongoing cancer battle. “I wish I could take credit for this, but I was kind of the absentee partner here. The girls all got together and said, ‘We need to do something to help this guy out.’”

Philipps, who played Audrey Liddell on Dawson’s Creek, previously told Us Weekly that the former costars were “really trying to figure out” how to best support Van Der Beek, 48, amid his health battle.

“We’re really trying to figure something out, but there are a couple of people who have some work things that cannot be moved,” Philipps, 45, exclusively told Us in March. “It’s like playing chess, trying to get everybody’s schedules to align. I’m very hopeful that at some point we will.”

She continued, “Everybody is, and I’m so glad to see and hear from James — and I know he posted on Instagram that he’s feeling well — and we just have all been really sending him every ounce of good wishes and prayers and hoping for the best.”

Van Der Beek revealed in November 2024 that he was diagnosed with colorectal cancer the year before. He underwent undisclosed forms of treatment, telling Extra in March that he “can see the finish line” in his illness.
