Josh Hart has been jonesing for some time off for weeks. If he was disappointed by not being named an All-Star reserve a few weeks ago, he’s done a fine job of hiding it. Like any player, he’d love to take part in the NBA All-Star Game. For Hart, the better option is almost surely to take advantage of the All-Star break.

“I don’t [pay much attention to it],” Hart said in late January, when the list of reserves was revealed and he wasn’t on it. “I mean, it’s cool, and if I was ever able to get to something like that, it would obviously be an honor — but that’s not for a guy like me, man.”

A guy like Hart, he could use the full break, which for the Knicks will start after Wednesday’s game at the Garden against the Hawks and will last eight glorious days. He could use a few days on the beach — or just a few days off his feet. Hart is perpetually on the injury report because something is perpetually barking at him.

You play basketball like a bullet train, that’s going to happen.
