JoJo Siwa is sharing more details about her newfound romance with Celebrity Big Brother UK castmate Chris Hughes.

“It’s a beautiful journey,” Siwa, 22, said on the Friday, June 6, episode of the “Rosebud With Gyles Brandreth” podcast. “I don’t know how the universe [aligned] for Chris to come into my life.”

Siwa and Hughes, 32, met on the U.K. reality show in April and quickly forged a strong bond in the Big Brother house. At the time, she recalled, “I wasn’t looking to fall for him. He wasn’t looking to fall for me. We just were having so much fun together.”

“We were having a laugh together. Whenever one of us was down. It was the other one of us that helped,” she added.

It wasn’t until after she left the Big Brother house and broke up with ex-partner Kath Ebbs that Siwa realized her feelings for Hughes may be more than just platonic.

After leaving the reality show, Siwa said, “I knew all these realizations [about] my life … things that I wasn’t happy and things that I was being OK with that I should never have been OK with.”

Siwa said that “over a little bit of time, I realized that I started to feel something for Christopher that I never intended to, but I couldn’t not feel.”

Thankfully, Hughes felt the same way and the new couple recently went public with their relationship.

“The word serendipity is Christopher and I’s favorite word now,” Siwa told host Gyles Brandreth. “If you read the definition of it, it’s essentially finding love when you’re least looking for it.”

Siwa said she and Hughes came across their new favorite word while watching the U.K. version of Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?

“The answer to the winning question was serendipity. And somebody replied and said [to Hughes], ‘Do you know what serendipity is? It’s literally you and JoJo.’ And we Googled it and both of us freaked out because we were like, that’s crazy that that was the million-dollar question answer. And that is exactly what we’ve really struggled to explain.”

The Dance Moms alum first confirmed her relationship with Hughes during a Monday, June 2, interview after Hughes shared a selfie of them in bed together the previous day.

“It’s not platonic anymore, and it’s been a beautiful development, a beautiful connection, and I’m absolutely head over heels for him and he’s the same way,” Siwa said in an interview with The Guardian published on Monday, June 2.
