Jenna Ortega gets her sense of style from New York City’s forever It Girl.
Ortega, 22, showed off a newspaper-inspired dress at the Hurry Up Tomorrow premiere on Monday, May 13, in New York City. This left Us reminiscing about Carrie Bradshaw wearing the same dress on season 3 of Sex and the City, which aired from 1998 to 2004.
The iconic dress, designed by John Galliano for Dior in 2000, features a cowl neckline, a fitted bodice, gold chain straps, and a high-low skirt crafted from newspaper-inspired clippings, with Christian Dior’s name splashed across it.
For her part, Ortega styled it with gold Jimmy Choo sandals and a Dior coin necklace. She completed her ensemble with nude nails and gold rings.
For glam, the actress donned a full beat, including sparkly eyeshadow swept across her lids and black eyeliner in her waterline. Ortega teamed her sexy eye makeup with blushed and bronzed cheeks, pink lips and manicured eyebrows.
Her brunette tresses were parted down the middle and styled in a bouncy blowout.
When Carrie, played by Sarah Jessica Parker, re-wore the number in 2009 while filming Sex and The City 2, she styled it with a bedazzled silver clove necklace, a coordinating clutch adorned with white fringe, and lace-embellished peep-toe pumps.
Carrie’s dress went up for auction in June 2024, selling for a whopping $80,000.
Other stars who have rocked similar newspaper dresses include Emily Ratajkowski and Ashley Graham. Clearly, Carrie is still influential!
