Inside NYC’s luxe new $550-a-month gym — which has high-tech biometric tools, a content creation studio and ‘white-glove’ service

News RoomBy News RoomJanuary 6, 20262 ViewsNo Comments

At Manhattan’s swankiest new gym, you can whip your body — and your online persona — into shape under one roof.

Billed as “the world’s first digital studio meets luxury fitness club,” Life Time High Performance soft-launched in September and is set to officially open its doors early this month.

The 420 Fifth Avenue location blends the brand’s signature state-of-the-art fitness equipment, recovery tools and training programs with exclusive digital production spaces for content creators, including a fully equipped podcast studio.

“This is our little sanctuary away from the city,” general manager Albie Lloyd told The Post during an exclusive preview.

“We built this to provide a very personalized, white-glove experience for our members that you might not be able to get at one of our larger clubs.”

But it doesn’t come cheap. Membership at LTHP, which is capped at 200 people, costs $550 a month, plus a $2,500 activation fee.

It’s the company’s most prestigious membership tier, granting access to more than 180 Life Time clubs nationwide, in addition to the Midtown space.

Described as a “training ground for life itself,” LTHP will offer members a private onboarding experience that includes access to high-tech biometric tools, providing a glimpse inside their bodies through assessments like VO2 max testing and resting metabolic rate analysis.

From there, members can work with Life Time staff to develop personalized training plans that make use of the club’s fitness offerings, including an expansive workout floor equipped with treadmills, ellipticals, stationary bikes and weightlifting equipment.

The club will also host a wide range of workout classes led by top instructors in its High Performance studio.

Coaches like Kenny Ferrer will use the studio as a hub for creating exclusive Life Time fitness content, available anytime, anywhere.

“A lot of our trainers from across the country will be flying into New York to record on-demand, full-production classes that will be available for free on our app,” Lloyd said. The club will also offer live-streamed sessions that members can follow in real time.

And the content doesn’t stop there.

LTHP will be the new home of Life Time’s official podcast, recorded in an on-site media production suite. Members get at least one free session in the recording booth as part of their membership and can book additional sessions if they want.

Members can also attend programming events in the space, including talks from champion athletes, top scientists and other experts sharing insights about fitness, health and wellness from their fields. Those sessions will be live-streamed on the brand’s app, too.

The club will also be the new home of High Performance Lifestyle Training, an experiential wellness brand Life Time acquired earlier this year.

Founded by Brian Mazza, now the company’s vice president of brand performance, HPLT gives members access to exclusive retreats, self-development workshops and high-intensity fitness challenges.

After breaking a sweat, LTHP members can cool down with breathwork sessions and yoga classes. Private recovery and meditation suites are also available on-site.

In the locker rooms, members will find a selection of Kiehl’s skin care products, with saunas and cold plunges coming soon.

The club is also designed to foster connection, giving members more than just a place to workout. They can relax in the cozy lounge, make use of the dedicated co-working spaces or grab a coffee at the in-house bar.

Rounding out the wellness offerings is an on-site nutritionist that can help members develop custom meal plans, complemented by a new line of rigorously tested Life Time supplements.

Ready to join? You aren’t the only one. LTHP had a waitlist for its membership even before it soft launched in the fall. You can add your name here.
