Two weeks after Championship Sunday determined which teams would advance onto the biggest game of the year, it’s time for Super Bowl 2025.
There’s history on the line in tonight’s game when the 15-2 Kansas City Chiefs take on the 14-3 Philadelphia Eagles in a rematch of the 2023 Super Bowl. The Chiefs can become the first team in NFL history to win three Super Bowls in a row, but they’ll have to get past the Eagles to do it.
On their road to the Super Bowl, the Chiefs easily defeated the Houston Texas before just narrowly winning against Josh Allen and the Bills. The 32-29 game was peppered with controversial calls and ended with a brutal drop by a Bills tight end sealed their fate.
As a second seed, the Eagles had to play one more game in the playoffs, but easily bested the Packers and Rams before a blowout 55-23 win in the Conference Championships against the Washington Commanders.
Where and when is the Super Bowl 2025?
Super Bowl 2025 kicks off at 6:30 p.m. ET tonight, Feb. 9. This year, the Super Bowl will be held at Caesars Superdome in New Orleans, La.

Betting on the NFL?
What to know about the matchup:
For the second time in three years, the Super Bowl matchup is Kansas City vs. Philadelphia. As we noted above, this Super Bowl rematch could lead to NFL history. If the Kansas City Chiefs win, they’ll become the first team to win three consecutive championships.
While some of the key players — Patrick Mahomes, Travis Kelce for Kansas City and Jalen Hurts for Philadelphia — haven’t changed, some key acquisitions, especially on the Eagles side have given them an edge this season and helped propel them to a 14-3 record: Saquon Barkley.
In a fun twist of fate, the former New York Giant, who rushed for 2,000-plus yards during the regular season, will celebrate his 28th birthday today, too.
National Anthem and Halftime Show performers:
Grammy and Oscar-winning singer and composer Jon Batiste will perform the National Anthem ahead of Super Bowl 2025. Local New Orleans musician Trombone Shorty and contemporary Christian singer Lauren Daigle will perform “America the Beautiful” and Ledisi will sing “Lift Every Voice and Sing,” known as the “Black national anthem.”
This year’s Super Bowl Halftime Show will be headlined by “Not Like Us” rapper Kendrick Lamar, fresh off his big night at the 2025 Grammys. He’ll make history as the first solo rap headliner at a Super Bowl Halftime show. Grammy winner SZA will join Lamar as a guest performer.
