One of the NBA’s best rivalries has been revived.

For the first time since 2013, the New York Knicks and Boston Celtics are meeting in the postseason.

Following a clutch come-from-behind Game 6 victory in the opening round of the playoffs, the No. 3 Knicks comes into this Eastern Conference Semifinals series as the underdog against Jayson Tatum’s defending champions.

“We’ll be doing a lot of work in the next couple days,” coach Tom Thibodeau said in a postgame press conference. “…we know that we’re going to have to be at our best.”

Over the course of the regular season, Boston swept New York in four games. Their most recent contest was the closest; on April 8, the Celtics prevailed in overtime and beat the Knicks 119-117. In that battle, the teams’ elite big men made the most noise. Both Karl-Anthony Towns and Kristaps Porzingis scored 34 points.

Game 1 goes down at Boston’s TD Garden on Monday, May 5.

As of now, Game 3 and Game 4 at New York City’s Madison Square Garden are scheduled for Saturday, May 10 and Monday, May 12.

If you want to be there — at either Boston or NYC’s Garden — tickets are available for all seven hypothetical games.

At the time of publication, the lowest price we could find on tickets for MSG games was $368 before fees on Vivid Seats.

Tickets start at $228 before fees in Boston.

About Knicks-Celtics series

The Knicks come into the series after a cutthroat first-round showdown with the Detroit Pistons — where they won three consecutive games on the road in the postseason for the first time in franchise history — and prevailed in six.

Game 6 was particularly tight for the team. Down 112-105 with 2:25 left, the squad had their backs against the wall. Then, Jalen Brunson came alive. A foul on a layup turned into a three-point play. One minute later, a reverse under the hoop turned into an improbable kiss off the glass.

Yet, it was the final minute that made all the difference. Mikal Bridges’ offensive rebound/left-handed putback combo tied the game. With the score sitting at 113-113, Brunson broke free from Ausar Thompson and found an opening behind the three-point line with five seconds left in regulation.

Nothing but net.

On the final play of the game, the Pistons couldn’t capitalize and the Knicks advanced.

As for the Celtics, they come into this second round after taking down the Orlando Magic in five. Other than their single loss in Game 3, Jayson Tatum, Jaylen Brown and the squad breezed to four easy victories.
