The first immigration case NYC mayoral frontrunner Zohran Mamdani may have to confront if elected could be his own – as two House Republicans push the Justice Department to probe his path to citizenship and possibly boot him from the US.

Rep. Randy Fine (R-Fla.) last week demanded the feds “review every naturalization of the past 30 years – starting with Mamdani.”

“I just think we need to take a hard look at how these folks became citizens, and if there is any fraud or any violation of the rules we need to denaturalize and deport,” Fine told the Post.

He also called for a probe of anti-Israel “Squad” member Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-Minn.), who was born in Somalia and is one of the first two women Muslims to serve in Congress.

Mamdani is a threat to the nation, he continued. “I know that there’s a lot of us that are very, very concerned about the enemy within – people who have come to this country to become citizens, to destroy it.”

He dismissed logistical concerns about yanking the citizenship of naturalized Americans after they got elected to top jobs. “If they’re not Americans, they can’t be in office,” he said.

Since June, his colleague Rep. Andy Ogles (R-Tenn.) has pushed for a Justice Department probe of Mamdani, saying the socialist who is leading NYC mayoral polls lied on his sworn statement when he became a naturalized citizen in 2018.

Ogles issued a call to “Deport Mamdani!” and branded him an “antisemitic, socialist, communist who will destroy the great City of New York.”

“In 2018 when he was naturalized, he failed to disclose some of the things that he had been doing, one of which was joining the [Democratic] Socialists of America. That’s a communist organization which, quite frankly, at that time, would have disqualified him from becoming a United States citizen,” Ogles told Newsmax.

He also cited Mamdani’s statements calling to free “the Holy Land Five” – a quintet of Palestinian-Americans who led the giant Muslim charity Holy Land Foundation for Relief and Development and who were convicted in 2008 of funneling millions of dollars to Hamas.

US immigration law declares inadmissible those who have “been a member of or affiliated with the Communist or any other totalitarian party.” The current form asks would-be citizens to disclose if they have ever been associated “in any way” with “any Communist or totalitarian party anywhere in the world.” President Trump has called Mamdani a “communist lunatic.” Mamdani specifically denies being a communist.

Rep. Shri Thanedar (D-Mich.), who represents Dearborn Heights, which contains a large Muslim population, called for Ogles to be censured over his posts.

The Justice Department wouldn’t rule out a probe of Mamdani.

“Due to the Democrats’ shutdown, congressional correspondence is delayed. The department does not comment on the status of ongoing or potential investigations,” a DOJ spokesperson told The Post.

The latest outrage over Mamdani came when he posed a cheery photo to X alongside controversial imam Siraj Wahhaj, who was named as an un-indicted co-conspirator to the 1993 World Trade Center bombing that killed six.

Mamdani did not return a request for comment.
