Ex-Giants linebacker Micheal Barrow is accused of accidentally punching his wife in a wild family fight at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport on Tuesday.
Barrow, 55, was involved in an argument with family members that ramped up considerably at the airport when the former University of Miami star threw a punch and inadvertently hit his wife, Shelley, in the face, according to multiple reports.
Barrow remained undeterred, allegedly punching the initial target of his ire “in the face with a closed fist” according to TMZ.
That led to an intra-airport wrestling match.
Barrow was arrested on three counts of first-degree misdemeanor domestic touch or strike/battery on Tuesday, according to court records viewed by The Post.
He entered a plea of not guilty on Wednesday.
A Florida native, Barrow was a two-time national champion at Miami and was an all-American and Big East Defensive Player of the Year in 1992.
He went on to be a second-round pick of the Houston Oilers in the 1993 draft, No. 47 overall, playing with the franchise for four seasons.
After spending 1997-99 with the Carolina Panthers, Barrow joined up with the Giants for four seasons, leading the NFC with 150 tackles during the 2003 season. He was part of the Giants team that lost to the Ravens in Super Bowl XXXV.
He played his final NFL campaign with the Cowboys in 2005.
Barrow went on to coach, working his way up from the high school ranks to becoming Miami’s linebackers coach and special teams coordinator, jobs he held from 2007-2013.
He spent three seasons with the NFL’s Seahawks as a member of their coaching staff beginning in 2015.
