A budding fitness influencer was fatally shot outside of a gym in Brazil by a suspect on a motorcycle, according to media reports citing Brazilian authorities.

Roberto Cunha Lima was killed after he stepped out of a gym in Stella Maris, a neighborhood located in Salvador, which is the capital city of Brazil’s Bahia state, according to Brazilian news outlet g1. The state of Bahia is located along the Atlantic coast, in the country’s northeastern region.

Lima, 46, had listed himself as a “sports coach” on his Instagram profile, Beto Cunha Coach. His account is followed by more than 7,000 Instagram users.

The person who allegedly shot and killed Lima has not been located or identified, according to a statement from the Civil Police, PS Notícias reported.

The Civil Police said that authorities are searching for Lima’s alleged killer, according to PS Notícias. The 1st Homicide Division of Salvador is investigating his death.

A potential motive for the killing was not specified by law enforcement.

Lima had been a sports coach for nearly 30 years, according to his Instagram profile.

In his last post, shared on March 10, Lima wrote a caption discussing how parents are responsible for their children’s health and what they eat.

“Your child only eats what you buy,” the caption translated into English by Instagram’s translation feature said. “Healthy children and adolescents, with no pathological [conditions] that restrict eating, should not be responsible for choosing what they eat every day.”

“If the pantry is full of cookies, soft drinks, chips, sweets and other ultra-processed food, rich in sugar, fat and additives, it is natural for the child to consume this kind of food. After all, this is what’s available,” the post continued.

“The truth is simple: the responsibility for the quality of children’s food is not theirs — it is ours, the parents,” Lima added.

As a fitness influencer, Lima would offer video trainings, a personalized diet plan and additional support, according to a pinned post on his Instagram.

Earlier in March, another Brazilian influencer, Karla Thaynnara, died in a motorcycle crash, Us Weekly previously reported. The deadly crash occurred March 3, according to local outlet Correio Braziliense.
