This season, each episode is being released weekly instead of dumping the entire season on a single day.

Technically, yes. But if you go that route, you may want to wait. Prime Video does offer a 30-day free trial for new users, but since there will be new episodes of Fallout weekly through February 4, 2026, it’s better to wait until we’re within a month of that date.

What Happened in ‘Fallout’ Season 2, Episode 1?

The newly knighted Maximus (Aaron Moten) and the Brotherhood didn’t appear in the season premiere. Instead, Justin Theroux made his debut as RobCo Industries CEO Robert House in a flashback to 2077. House antagonized a bar full of patrons who were wary of his machines, and he tricked one of their number into getting close enough to implant a mind-control chip on him. The man subsequently killed his friends before his head exploded.

In a separate flashback to the 2070s, actor Cooper Howard (Walton Goggins) attempted to take his young daughter, Janey (Teagan Meredith), and flee after learning that his wife, Barb (Frances Turner), is helping Vault-Tec destroy the world. However, Lee Moldaver (Sarita Choudhury) convinced him to stay and spy on his wife during their trip to Las Vegas to see Robert House.

Two centuries later, Cooper is known as The Ghoul and teams up with Lucy MacLean (Ella Purnell) to find her father, Hank MacLean (Kyle MacLachlan). The Ghoul wants Hank to tell him where his family is, while Lucy wants to bring her father to justice. The pair tracks Hank to an abandoned vault, but he found another Vault-Tec installation and left an audio message for his employer, who may be Robert House.

Meanwhile, Lucy’s brother, Norm MacLean (Moisés Arias), faced starvation while locked in a neighboring vault. Rather than give in, Norm released all of the Vault-Tec employees from suspended animation. Whether there are any familiar faces among those employees remains to be seen.

What’s Going to Happen in ‘Fallout’ Season 2?

The Ghoul and Lucy will continue their search for Hank in the ruins of Las Vegas. It’s too soon to say what Maximus will be doing.

Is There a Trailer for ‘Fallout’ Season 2?

Yes, and it offers a quick look at the dynamic between Lucy and the Ghoul going forward. There are also hints of a Civil War brewing with the Brotherhood, and some of the mad science conducted by Hank.

How Many Episodes Are in ‘Fallout’ Season 2?

There are eight episodes in Fallout season 2.

We don’t know who they’re playing yet, but Nanjiani’s character is seen in the trailer interacting with the Brotherhood.
