The Jonas Brothers brought all the Disney nostalgia to opening night of their 20th anniversary tour — with a little help from Demi Lovato.

Nick, Joe and Kevin Jonas kicked off their JONAS20: Greetings from Your Hometown Tour at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey on Sunday, August 10, performing hits spanning their two decades in the spotlight. Along with a surprise appearance from Jesse McCartney, the brothers gave fans an unexpected Camp Rock reunion with Lovato, 32.

Lovato stepped on stage in a pair of sparkling pants and a bra top, belting out “Gotta Find You” and “This Is Me” from the 2008 Disney Channel Original Movie. She and Joe, 35, also performed “Wouldn’t Change a Thing,” their duet from the 2010 Camp Rock sequel.

“Thanks for having me @jonasbrothers 🫶,” Lovato gushed via Instagram on Sunday alongside a clip of her and Joe singing together.

The twosome played onscreen love interests Mitchie and Shane in the Disney movies, also sparking a brief romance off camera in 2010.

“I really got to know her and got to see the ins and outs of what she was struggling with,” Joe told Vulture in 2013, referring to Lovato’s substance abuse battle. “I felt like I needed to take care of her, but at the same time, I was living a lie because I wasn’t happy but felt like I had to stay in it for her because she needed help. I couldn’t express any of that, of course, because I had a brand to protect.”

In the years since their split, Lovato and the DNCE singer have reunited on a handful of occasions, including the 2017 Vanity Fair Oscar Party and a 2021 Halloween bash. The pair even poked fun at their Disney roots in a backstage moment at Sunday’s concert.

“For the history books @joejonas,” Lovato teased in an Instagram caption as she and Joe lip-synched to a viral audio of fellow Disney alum Debby Ryan saying she “wanted to make history.”

Fans weren’t the only ones celebrating the onstage reunion. Lovato’s husband, Jordan “Jutes” Lutes, was also on hand to witness the Disney magic.

“Movie 👏👏👏,” he commented on a clip of Lovato’s duet with Joe.

The 34-year-old took to his Instagram Story to share more behind-the-scenes footage. “Couldn’t be more proud,” he gushed. “I love you sooo much baby @ddlovato.”

The couple, who tied the knot in May, shared a sweet kiss in a separate Instagram Story pic after the show.

Kevin, 37, Nick, 32, and Joe are celebrating 20 years of the Jonas Brothers with more than 50 shows across the U.S. and Canada, wrapping their tour at Connecticut’s Mohegan Sun Arena in November.
