David Axelrod is hedging his bets.

The former Obama campaign guru said he would be a “fool” to try and predict who would win the 2024 presidential election, noting the current polling showed the contest was too close to call.

“I’d be a fool to answer that question because you’re talking about margins we have never seen before in polling,” Axelrod told CNN.

“You know, you’ve got seven battleground states. I think the largest margin on the average is like two point … And most of them are under one point when you look at polling averages,” Axelrod added during his remarks Friday. “And that’s just way too close to call. I don’t know.”

Axelrod, a longtime Democratic party voice, was one of President Biden’s harshest critics in the weeks leading up to Biden dropping out of the presidential race.

While Vice President Harris has narrowed many of the deficits, her support nationally has continued to erode since her debate with former President Trump in September.
