But after his first time in New York City, Dylan Darling didn’t need to take any more trips. St. John’s had everything he was looking for, from Hall of Fame coach Rick Pitino to a terrific roster and immediate playing time.

Thursday night, he made the call.

“Obviously, being able to get the opportunity to play for coach Pitino and the staff, with all the success he’s had and all the players he developed in the pros, was something that was really appealing to me,” the Idaho State and Big Sky Most Valuable Player told The Post in a phone interview. “It kind of sold itself, and being able to have the chance to play for a national championship next year. I just felt I had an amazing opportunity at hand and kind of wanted to jump on it.”
