Derrick Henry was not happy with himself.

The Ravens running back fumbled during a crucial fourth quarter drive against the Lions on Monday night, giving Detroit the ball back with 8:31 left and a 28-24 lead.

Henry was apoplectic on the sideline, slamming his helmet on a stand with such force he fell back onto the bench and then slammed his fist onto it as well.

He stalked the sideline with his hands on his head and vented to assistant head coach Willie Taggart.

It was the latest snafu in an uncharacteristic start to the season for the sure-handed Henry, who now has three fumbles in the first three weeks of the 2025 season after posting just three total on 652 total touches from 2023-24, a span of 36 games.

“I’m at a loss for words,” Henry said. “It’s not a good feeling. I’m going to keep working to get it fixed.”

In the season-opener, his turnover with just over three minutes gave the Bills the momentum they needed to score nine points en route to a wild 41-40 Baltimore loss.

“Got to keep it high and tight. Got lackadaisical,” Henry said afterward. “They made a play, but I put this loss on me.”

It wasn’t exactly history repeating, but the Lions tacked on three points off the turnover, putting the Ravens in a 31-24 hole en route to the 38-30 win that dropped Baltimore to 1-2.

Henry did post 50 rushing yards and a touchdown on the night, but it’s going to be the latest one that got away from him that is going to stick.

“It’s just crazy,” Henry said. “Three fumbles straight. I try every day to fix the problem, and it just keeps occurring, so I’m going to try and work on it, man.”
