Deatrich Wise is looking on the bright side.

The Commanders defensive end suffered a gruesome, season-ending quad injury in the second quarter of Thursday’s 27-18 loss to the Packers.

Wise, 31, became emotional as he was taken off the field on a cart, surrounded by teammates, many of whom took a knee.

“I’m truly grateful for all the love, prayers, and support I’ve received,” Wise posted on his Instagram on Friday in a carousel of images that included his injury, raising a fist while being carted off and of his family. “This was an unfortunate experience, but when you give so much to the game and do everything you can to improve for yourself and for your team’s success it can feel like there’s a lot to play for.

“When you stop, it can feel like everything around you stops too.”

Wise, signed to a one-year, $5 milion deal with Washington after spending his first eight seasons with the Patriots, started both of the Commanders games this season.

He attempted to block Green Bay kicker Brandon McManus’ extra point attempt when a Packers lineman fell back on his leg.

“But I know the best healer. God only puts us through what we can handle, and every challenge carries a lesson. Out of every test comes growth, shaping us into who we need to become to accomplish the goals we set from the start,” he wrote.

Wise is staring down surgery, but there’s a silver lining, at least.

“I’m on the path to becoming the highest version of myself,” he posted. “And on the bright side i get spend on time with my family and my sons.”
