Christina Haack doesn’t remember the days — or the episode, to be exact — when Josh Hall was her partner on The Flip Off.

During the Wednesday, February 12, episode of the hit HGTV series, Christina, 41, discussed Tarek El Moussa and Heather El Moussa‘s interest in her potential business collaborator, saying, “I never said I had a partner from the start. Well, I had one. But he doesn’t count.”

Tarek, 43, later poked fun at his ex-wife when he referred to Christina as “Ms. Single,” and his wife got in on the fun. After Christina approved Tarek and Heather’s request for more time getting the living room in their flip ready, she asked for something in return. Christina challenged Heather, 37, and Tarek to use an item in their home that Josh was planning to refurbish.

Heather — and Tarek — were not thrilled when Christina arrived with a dirty table and chair set.

“Is that Josh’s bulls—? There’s no way I am putting that crap in my house,” Tarek quipped. “It is busted up and broken. This is the item from your house that Josh was going to use?”

Heather agreed with her husband, adding, “We are not using this. He was going to use this in your house? You are lucky he is gone.”

Before briefly partnering on The Flip Off, Christina got her start on Flip or Flop with Tarek. The former couple worked on the show during their marriage — which lasted from 2009 to 2018 —and after their divorce was finalized.

Christina moved on with Ant Anstead, which led to them collaborating on Christina on the Coast before their relationship fizzled out. After her divorce from Ant, 45, Christina moved on with Josh, 44. She filed for divorce in July 2024 and has since been dating Christopher LaRocca. In her professional life, Christina remained on The Flip Off after Josh exited the show.

“It’s much easier to film with someone when you don’t have to go home with them. It’s not usually a good idea to film with a spouse,” Christina exclusively told Us Weekly last month about working with Tarek and Heather. “Josh was very hard to film with. He didn’t get it.”

She continued: “He’d always get upset with me, like ‘Oh, my gosh, you did this’ or ‘You did that.’ And I’m like, ‘I’m making a TV show.’ Ultimately, it was better that he left after episode one because the show would’ve sucked.”

Christina confirmed that calling off the show was never an option.

“This isn’t Josh’s show. No one’s going to miss that he’s not in it,” she continued. “Josh is not a TV host, he’s not a house flipper, he’s not a designer. He was just my husband in it. With Tarek, we built everything together, and I still have respect for him. I have no respect for Josh.”

Josh addressed his departure with an Instagram Story post in January, which read, “TFW you can’t get enough ratings with celebrity 🏠designers so you manufactured drama with me, a nobody. @hgtv, you’ve changed.”

In response, Christina replied via her own Instagram Story, “Manufactured?! Pretty sure no one at Hgtv told you to be rude to me. … That was all natural.”

The Flip Off airs on HGTV Wednesdays at 8 p.m. ET and is available to stream the same day on Max and Discovery+.
