Bronny James was mouthing off to fans while his father wasn’t around.

While LeBron was back rehabbing his groin injury in Los Angeles, Bronny was playing in Denver with the Lakers and felt it was time to fire back at a heckling fan.

James, who has been the subject of much vitriol and anguish throughout his rookie season, looked at a heckling fan to tell him, “your chain fake.”

The hilarious chirp was followed by the fan posting a selfie with the chain that surely looks fake.

Perhaps it’s no coincidence that the Lakers’ rookie guard felt confident enough to finally clap back at a fan with his father — who has been very protective of his son — not around and while also receiving some legitimate minutes with the team.

LeBron has previously yelled at ESPN host Stephen A. Smith for comments surrounding his son.

Bronny played a career-high 16 minutes in Friday’s heartbreaking loss to the Nuggets, scoring five points and tallying the team’s third-best plus/minus at plus-eight.

It was the second-highest plus-minus that Bronny has had in a single game this season and the only positive plus/minus he has had with his significant minutes in a non-mop-up duty NBA game this year.

LeBron has been injured since March 8 when he hurt his groin in a primetime Saturday night game against the Celtics.

He retreated back to Hollywood in the hopes of speeding up his healing from the soft tissue injury.

LeBron is expected to return sometime next week, according to most reports, as he rests his injury and body for the stretch run as the Lakers look to gear up for an NBA Finals run.

Los Angeles has lost four of its last five games and is now the fifth seed in the Western Conference.
