Bill, Hillary Clinton deposition in Jeffrey Epstein investigation pushed back to next month

News RoomBy News RoomDecember 16, 20252 ViewsNo Comments

WASHINGTON — A powerful Republican-led House committee has pushed back the deadline for former President Bill Clinton and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton to testify about their relationship with deceased sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein and his convicted madam Ghislaine Maxwell.

House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer (R-Ky.) informed the Clintons’ attorney David Kendall Monday that they wanted depositions from the former first couple by the middle of next month.

“Committee staff told you that the Committee is open to rescheduling the testimony but that it would need definitive new dates in January before canceling the currently scheduled dates,” Comer told Kendall. “You replied that you are unwilling to provide any alternative dates for your clients’ testimony.

“Therefore, the Committee has chosen the date of January 13, 2026, for the deposition of President Clinton and January 14, 2026, for the deposition of Secretary Clinton. If your clients do not comply with these new dates, the Committee will move immediately to contempt proceedings,” the Oversight chairman added.

Kendall had informed the panel that neither Bill nor Hillary Clinton could testify Wednesday and Thursday of this week, as previously demanded via subpoenas, since both will be attending a funeral.

Comer also accused Kendall Monday of submitting a Dec. 10 letter to Oversight panel members that”ignore[s] the Committee’s arguments, misstates relevant facts, and seeks information about the Committee’s investigation to which neither you nor your clients are entitled.”

Kendall and other reps for the Clintons have repeatedly claimed that the 42nd president never visited Epstein’s notorious private island in the Caribbean despite past statements to the contrary from an ex-employee.

Steve Scully, a former IT contractor on the island, claimed in the 2020 Netflix documentary “Jeffrey Epstein: Filthy Rich” that he once saw Bill Clinton on Little St. James in the US Virgin Islands.

Kendall has cited disclosures from the Oversight panel as proof his client was never there — but Comer has pushed back that none of the documents released so far “confirm that former President Clinton has never been to Little St. James.”

“[N]or do they absolve the need for your clients’ testimony about their relationship with Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell,” the lawmaker added.

Reps for the Clintons did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
