Larry Fitzgerald’s son has caught Bill Belichick’s eye.

Devin Fitzgerald, the wide receiver son of the Arizona Cardinals legend, revealed Sunday he was offered a scholarship from UNC, where the new Tar Heels football coach is looking to build his first collegiate program.

“I had the privilege of speaking with Coach @Belichick_B, one of the greatest to ever do it, and I am thrilled to announce that I have received an offer from the University of North Carolina!” Devin posted on X.

A member of the class of 2026, Devin is a 6-foot-2, 195-pound prospect who plays for Brophy College Preparatory in Phoenix. He is considered a three-star recruit by ESPN.

In addition to UNC, where Belichick, 72, is entering his first season, Devin has received offers from Arizona, Arizona State, Duke, UCLA and Pittsburgh, Fitzgerald’s alma mater, among others.

The elder Fitzgerald, 41, played wide receiver at Pittsburgh for two seasons (2002-03) before he was taken third overall by the Cardinals in the 2004 NFL Draft.

The former Walter Payton Man of the Year winner spent his entire 17-year career in Arizona, where he was elected to 11 Pro Bowls and named First-team All-Pro in 2008.

Fitzgerald, who played his final season in 2020, finished his prolific career with 1,432 receptions for 17,492 yards and 121 touchdowns.

Much like the Fitzgeralds are focused on Devin’s future, Belichick is locked in on his at UNC.

The legendary NFL coach joined the Tar Heels in December after parting ways with the Patriots last January following 24 seasons and six Super Bowl wins.

Practices began earlier this week, with Belichick likening his program to that of NFL rookie minicamps.

“It’s kind of similar to what a rookie minicamp would be and time with the rookies. Granted, those kids are a little bit older, but they’re coming in from all different programs and different situations,” he told reporters Wednesday.

“So it’s starting to put everything together: here’s how we do things, here’s what our expectations are, this is what you need to do to be successful. They’ve embraced that, they’ve tried to do it.”

Belichick signed a five-year deal with UNC in January. He owes the university $10 million of the contract is terminated before June 1.
