The Winnipeg Jets were the best team in the NHL during the regular season, but that will go right out the window if they can’t get the job done in Game 7 on Sunday night.

The Jets were up 2-0 and 3-2 in their best-of-seven series against the St. Louis Blues, but Jim Montgomery’s team has proven resilient and has heaped a ton of pressure on Winnipeg.

Not only are the Jets banged up, but goaltender Connor Hellebuyck is under the microscope for another disappointing performance in the playoffs.

The Jets are a -155 favorite to win Game 7, while the total for this game will likely trickle down to 5, as bookmakers know that bettors love to play the under in Game 7s during the Stanley Cup Playoffs.

Blues vs. Jets Game 7 betting preview

This has been the nastiest series of Round 1, with both sides racking up the hits and penalty minutes through the first six games.

That physicality has led to a couple of injuries, most notably to Winnipeg’s No. 1 center, Mark Scheifele.

Scheiefele is doubtful for Sunday’s Game 7.

With or without Scheifele, the Jets won’t have a chance in this contest unless Hellebuyck gets his wits about him. Hellebuyck is weeks away from winning the Vezina Trophy as the league’s top goaltender for the second straight season, but his playoff numbers are abysmal.

The Michigan native has been pulled in three of the last four contests, and has posted an .815 save percentage through the first six games of this series.

Blues vs. Jets Game 7 pick

With Hellebuyck struggling and Scheifele out of the lineup, this looks like a decent price on the Blues.

St. Louis has put together three strong efforts in its last four contests and it played the Jets close in the first two games of this series.

Winnipeg’s got little margin for error without Scheifele, and its presumed goaltending advantage has completely evaporated.

The Blues have more paths to victory in Game  7.

The Play: Blues +120 or better
