Yankees players weren’t the only ones showing some fight during the Subway Series finale on Sunday.

Anthony Volpe’s father, Michael, was recorded during a heated moment with Mets fans at Citi Field during the seventh inning stretch.

Before the singing of “God Bless America” at Citi Field, the father of the Yankees’ shortstop defended his son from a Mets fan who was apparently talking smack.

In a video making the rounds on social media from the Yankees’ 6-4 win over the Mets, Michael was seen tossing expletives at a Mets fan while his wife, Isabelle, tried to calm him.

“Let’s go,” Michael can be heard saying multiple times in a viral TikTok video. “Bad mouthing my son. F–k you. F–k you. F–k you. Bad mouthing my son you scum bag. You f–king scumbag.”

A fan can then be heard saying — perhaps sarcastically — “your son’s the best” before everyone finally removed their hats to participate in the song honoring America.

It is unclear what the Mets fan in the middle of the dispute was saying to Michael, and his face is not in the picture, but he was standing up and pointing in Michael’s direction.

Volpe went 1-for-11 in the series as the Yankees dropped two of three to continue their early summer swoon.

The scuffling 24-year-old’s lone hit was a home run in the Mets’ 12-6 win on Saturday.

Volpe has had an uneven season for the Yankees in his third season, posting a .219 average to go along with 10 home runs, 48 RBIs, 10 steals (caught seven times) and a .695 OPS.

He has produced a WAR greater than three in each of his first two seasons in the big leagues and is on pace to do so again in 2025, and is also on pace to play 160 games this year.

Volpe is third in the MLB among shortstops in errors (11).
