Ana de Armas’ latest beach read choice is an interesting selection.
Online gossip account DeuxMoi posted a photo of de Armas, 37, on a boat with Tom Cruise while on a getaway in Spain. The actress donned a sun hat and white cover-up. Cruise, 63, rocked a button-up shirt and fedora.
As the pair enjoyed the sunny day, de Armas had Sierra Greer’s book Annie Bot by her side while she sat across from the action movie star.
The science fiction novel, which was published last year, tells the story of an AI robot named Annie Bot. According to the synopsis, Annie Bot “was created to be the perfect girlfriend for her human owner” as she was “designed to satisfy his emotional and physical needs.” As Annie Bot adapts to life around her, she ends up becoming less perfect.
In the past few months, Cruise and de Armas have sparked romance rumors as they continue to spend time together. The pair were first spotted together enjoying a meal in London during Valentine’s Day weekend.
While neither de Armas nor Cruise has publicly confirmed their relationship status, the From the World of John Wick: Ballerina star shared during a May appearance on Good Morning America she was having “so much fun” with Cruise and teased they had plans to work together in the future.
“We’re definitely working on a lot of things,” she explained. “Not just one, but a few projects with [Cruise’s producers] Doug Liman and Christopher McQuarrie and, of course, Tom. I’m so excited.”
That same month, Cruise shared his excitement for de Armas’ new movie in the John Wick universe.
“I saw the movie, which kicks ass,” Cruise said via social media footage. “Oh, man, it’s right in that tone. It’s right in that big world, and you’re gonna love it.”
The following month, de Armas gushed about how great it was to have Cruise’s support.
“You know what, he supports every movie,” she said to Variety in June. “He really wants the industry and cinema to do well and [wants] people going to the theaters. We’re working together, so he got to see Ballerina, and he actually really liked it. He loved the John Wick [franchise].”
She continued: “It is very special that someone like him is supporting [Ballerina.] It is really special, in general, to have other actors and people supporting each other. We can do well all together.”
That same month, Cruise and de Armas were spotted together again while traveling in Europe. The twosome were photographed while lounging together on a luxury yacht near Ciutadella de Menorca, Spain.
