Amy Robach is looking back on her relationship with ex-husband Andrew Shue — calling their whirlwind engagement “embarrassing.”

While cohosting the “I Do, Part 2” podcast on Wednesday, May 21, with boyfriend T.J. Holmes, the couple discussed how long they dated their respective exes before tying the knot.

“[My] first one I was so young, but it was a year engagement,” Robach, 52, recalled about her romance with Tim McIntosh, whom she was married to from 1996 to 2008. “I dated for a year and then got engaged after a year. So I got married after two years.”

Robach called her next marriage — to Shue — a “little embarrassing,” adding, “I got engaged after four months and I got married after 10 months of meeting him.”

Holmes, 47, meanwhile, waited “longer” before getting married to his exes. He was married to Amy Ferson from 2004 to 2007 and Marilee Fiebig from 2010 to 2023.

Elsewhere in the episode, Robach joked about how long Holmes would wait before his “third” marriage. (The pair have been quite candid about their eventual plans to walk down the aisle after dating for more than two years following their scandal.)

In November 2022, news broke about Robach’s split from Shue, 58, after she was spotted spending time with Holmes, her then-GMA3 coanchor. Us Weekly broke the news in January 2023 that Robach and Holmes were officially axed from ABC and the network later confirmed their departure from GMA3.

Robach and Holmes have since defended the timeline of their relationship.

“To be clear, we were outed as being in a relationship, but everyone else thought we were being outed as adulterers — being outed as cheating on our spouses — and it wasn’t the case because the odd thing is, the day those pictures were taken and the day that article was released, we both, at that point, were in divorce proceedings,” Holmes said in the debut episode of his and Robach’s “Amy and T.J.” podcast in December 2023.

Robach, meanwhile, claimed that her marriage to Shue was over before she started dating Holmes. (Shue and Holmes’ ex-wife Fiebig are now currently dating.)

“We had attorneys, mediators, we were in the middle of divorces,” she shared at the time. “We thought we were protecting our children and our families and we thought we had time and we thought we had a right to privacy and maybe that was foolish and silly.”

When it comes to a potential engagement, Robach and Holmes have explained why they aren’t in a rush.

“It’s not an if, it’s a when. I like that. I actually appreciate that,” Robach said on their podcast in December 2024 before revealing how Holmes turned her down when she asked about proposing to him. “T.J., you told me that I should never propose to you.”

Holmes seemed surprised by Robach’s statement, to which she added, “Remember, we were talking about women proposing to men? But I’m just saying that if I answer this, I feel like that’d be kind of in part me saying when I would like to get married.”

Robach continued: “We don’t have a date, obviously, and we haven’t even decided what we’re going to do. [But] I said I want to and I’d like to in the fall [and] that would be akin to me proposing to you.”

Earlier this year, the duo spoke with Us about their strong connection. “I haven’t found somebody I want to grow old with. I’ve found the person to stay young with,” he gushed during a joint interview in March. “She literally is someone who stops and smells the roses.”

Robach, meanwhile, said she was grateful to have found Holmes.

“This guy is my favorite person to do anything and everything with,” she added. “He brings so much joy and so much laughter into every situation. I have never laughed so much with one person in my entire life. So if you can find someone to laugh with, that’s your person.”
