Alan Cumming’s 2025 Emmy Awards red carpet look proves he’ll never be a traitor to superb style.
The Traitors host, 60, showed off his eye-catching ensemble ahead of the Sunday, September 14, awards show at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles.
Cumming looked dapper in a black suit with white trim designed by Tanner Fletcher and a massive bow placed front and center while hitting the red carpet, completing his ensemble with shiny Bottega Veneta dress shoes. His hair was slicked back to perfection as he posed for photos with his hands in his pockets.
The actor’s beloved Peacock series, The Traitors — which he also produces — is nominated for Outstanding Reality Competition Program at the ceremony. The other contenders in the category are The Amazing Race, RuPaul’s Drag Race, Survivor and Top Chef.
Earlier this month, The Traitors secured four wins at the 2025 Creative Arts Emmy Awards. For one, Cumming defeated RuPaul’s Drag Race’s RuPaul, Top Chef’s Kristen Kish, Survivor’s Jeff Probst and Shark Tank’s Mark Cuban, Lori Greiner, Kevin O’Leary, Barbara Corcoran, Robert Herjavec, Daymond John and Daniel Lubetzky in the Outstanding Host for a Reality or Reality Competition Program category.
Meanwhile, the show took home Outstanding Picture Editing for a Structured Reality or Competition Program, Outstanding Directing for a Reality Program and Outstanding Cinematography for a Reality Program.
Following his win at the Creative Arts Emmys, Cumming reflected on his role as host of The Traitors, which he has held since season 1 in 2023.
“I didn’t imagine that being a host of a show like this would be such a sort of combination of hosting and acting,” he told People in the press room. “That’s been the biggest [discovery].”
He continued, “I feel like it’s a character I play who happens to be a host. I haven’t really seen things like that before. And so actually it’s kind of funny just to suddenly find yourself doing this thing and making up this character who’s also a host. You have to sort of rely on spontaneity and letting certain situations play out, and that’s when you get the best stuff.”
Over the past three seasons, Cumming’s onscreen ensembles have become just as anticipated as the competition itself.
“I don’t normally dress like this,” he told TV Insider in July 2024, crediting the show’s stylist, Sam Specter, with his wardrobe. “The costume adds so much to it. Of course, this plot of the show is so dramatic and theatrical that I just have to go with it like that.”
Before the 2025 awards season, The Traitors won three previous Emmys for Outstanding Casting for a Reality Program in 2023 and Outstanding Reality Competition Program and Outstanding Host for a Reality or Reality Competition Program for Cumming in 2024.
