The Post’s Jon Heyman previews the AL West:

1. Texas Rangers

O/U Wins: 85.5

Key Player: Jacob deGrom. They will go slow with deGrom in hopes of keeping the most talented pitcher of this generation healthy enough to log a decent number of innings. He was wowing the few folks who caught glimpses of him in spring, and obviously is a sight to behold when he’s able to pitch. He’s expected to start in the fourth or fifth slot, but only for protection purposes of course (he’d be anyone’s ace if there were no health worries). They won the World Series mostly without him two years ago, but the task would be much easier with him.

Player who’ll need to step up: Adolis García. One of the heroes of the 2023 run to the World Series title looks like he might be back in form after a rough ’24 season. That would be huge for the Rangers, who are the favorite in the division. At full strength, the lineup is scary, but other than supreme iron man Marcus Semien, who never misses a game, they had too many injuries to overcome in 2024.
